Make Magazine News

The Make Magazine team has been busy!  Issue 5 is in the mail.  I’ve started looking through the free digital edition and I can’t wait for the hard copy.  Meanwhile, they are hosting a Maker Fairre in the Bay Area in April(the Euro version sounded cool, but the Bay area version is going to have THE MYTHBUSTERS!!).

The best news, of course, is that “Lee David Zlotoff (creator of MacGyver) will be doing a regular column in MAKE!!!”.

You guys rock!

Hack: Installing a Mic in a Palm TX

This is a really cool idea.  Apparently, the TX has two contacts on the hotsync connector that are intended for attaching a microphone.  Gregte already installed one in his TX.  I use my Razr for recording quick notes to myself, so this isn’t useful for me right now, but it definitely looks like fun!

Etsy just added a custom handmade goods marketplace!

It’s called Alchemy.  You write up the specs for the object you want and people bid on the opportunity to create it for you.  Fantastic!!!

Some example jobs: Batman-themed, high quality leather laptop bagAnotomical Heart in NeedlepointCute crochet doll of our doggie. He’s a chihuahua mix.

If there was some way to mark blog posts as having high importance(as you can with email), I would be marking this post that way.  This is really, really big.
