The Minty MP3 Player is like the iPod Shuffle but a little bigger and much more open. Oh, and you have to MAKE it. via hackaday. The creator, ladyada(homepage), has other hacks, too, including the Persistence of Vision toy! She points to easier mp3 projects near the top of the fabrication page.
Speaking of which, MAKE magazine subscriptions are finally available!
Hacking Tivo
I’m looking for information on doing basic recording using a Tivo Series 2 without subscribing to the Tivo service. It sounds like it’s not possible, but here are some interesting links regarding Tivo hacks.

GBA Overclocking
Last year, I tried to overclock my GBA SP. I had some luck, but I removed the mod after a couple months because it was kind of finicky. Now, AheadGames is planning an overclock mod kit. That’s awesome. Sounds like they plan to allow you to switch the thing on and off. I hope they provide multiple speeds!!
