The Real Microsoft Origami?
Well, it didn’t take long for someone to find a prototype commercial for the Origami device. It’s like the Nokia Internet Tablet, but probably more powerful and probably runs XP. Now the mystery is how much it will cost….
Update: Check out Neowin’s coverage. And lots of stills + mpg version of the video here.

Mysteries On My Mind
What is Origami? Is it a pda? Is it a microPC? Is it a phone? Is it a portable media player? Is it a gaming platform? NetworkWorld says it is definitely an ultra portable lifestyle pc. Maybe it isn’t even a device…. The best discussions on this topic are at scoble’s site and designtastesgood. Not much at wikipedia yet. ARGN doesn’t seem to have declared it an ARG. There is no discussion of it on their forums, so far.
What is Kevin Burton’s new blog idea? His track record is awesome, so far. What’s he got up his sleeve?!
What is Apple introducing on February 28? There’s a humorous idea at timshead and some lively discussion at ThinkSecret.
Full Auto
It’s getting terrible review scores, but Full Auto is a ton of fun. It’s exactly what I expected after reading the previews and playing the demo over and over again. I think Jonny Ram says it best: “It’s a bit like a modern day Roadblasters – lots of wanton destruction while trying to maintain a good racing line.” I never made the connection until reading that sentence. RoadBlasters is a GREAT game – one of my favorites.
Marble Blast Ultra (XBox Live Arcade) is also a lot of fun.
Naked Conversations / TechCrunch Party
I’ll be at the Naked Conversations Party tonight (hosted by Michael Arrington at his house). It should be a blast!
Shel and Robert really did a great job on the book. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to blogging, so I was surprised to find so many examples in the book that were new to me. And the examples I was familiar with were given strong, in-depth treatment, showing me the rest of the story. I finished it last night, so I plan to put together a review this weekend.
At home, I haven’t had a lot of time to sit down, so I read half of the hardcover and had Microsoft Mary read the other half to me (using the Digital Edition). I used my laptop (booted to XP) and Adobe’s PDF Reader (with DRM) [Menu->View->Read Out Loud or CTRL-SHIFT-B]. Microsoft Mary is from the Microsoft Speech SDK. There were a few quirks (Read Out Loud doesn’t skip over urls in the footnotes and it mispronounces ‘Scoble’), but it was a pretty positive experience for my first time using text to speech so extensively.
