Road Tasted – Food Network presents specialty foods delivered to your door!

Join fun-loving brothers Jamie and Bobby Deen (sons of Paula Deen) as they hit the road and cross the country in search of the best local, hand-crafted foods. Armed with wit, ingenuity and a passion for all things food, the Deen boys offer a fresh, fun look at the specialty stores and family run businesses that make one-of-a-kind edibles. Plus, they’ll show you how to get all these foods delivered to your door. So, come along for the ride! Tasty rewards await at the end of the road, but half the fun is getting there.

Road Tasted premieres Tuesday, July 11 at 10pm /9c.

Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares

I’ve been watching this show on BBC America.  I enjoyed previous episodes, but this season is amazing.  Tonight’s episode was one of the best.

Episode six – Clubway 41

Despite being voted Restaurant of the Year by the local tourist board, Clubway 41 is in dire straits. It’s the prime example of how not to run a restaurant. Owner Dave is the flaky, self-appointed head chef who hasn’t been in a kitchen for 30 years and can’t cook. His partner Dawn invents bizarre dishes ranging from ‘tomato and cointreau soup’ to ‘pork with brie, nectarine and whiskey sauce.’ Gordon faces a hellish week, Clubway 41 is breaking every rule in book. Can he bring Dave, Dawn, and their food back to earth?

They renamed the restaurant Jackson’s, btw.

Business Card Best Practices from Scoble

I don’t revisit business cards often, but I carry a few with me. 2 of them are Robert’s – his Braille version and the one that seems to be made of an alien black rubber material. So, when he gives advice about business cards, I listen.

By the way, here’s my latest card. The quote is from a customer of ours. SiteBuilder had a nasty bug when run on his computer and noone else’s. Took us a while to find the problem, but Greg Campbell found the solution and made the customer happy!

Update: Garret Dimon’s business card is awesome.

Amanda: Get 51%.

For me, and I assume many others, RocketBoom and Amanda are synonymous.  I’m NOT going to automatically subscribe to the ‘new’ RocketBoom, however I WILL automatically subscribe to the next show Amanda does.   Same thing happened, for many, with David Letterman and Howard Stern.

So, my advice is this, Amanda.  You have the leverage.  IF you continue to host RocketBoom, get ownership of 51% or more so this kind of problem doesn’t happen again.

Sounds like lots of people respect the other party in this agreement, Andrew Baron.  For all I know, he’s in the right.  I don’t think it matters.  RocketBoom will lose a ton of viewers and momentum without Amanda.  I think it would be a bargain for him to pay 2% to get Amanda back.
