Two Color DS Lite Mod
Using parts from a Navy DS Lite and a White DS Lite, this guy created a two-tone version. Very cool!! Here are the pics (via deviantart):

Nintendo DS Browser (Opera)
My browser order from Play-Asia arrived today.
The video reviews from Joshua Zimmerman are accurate. I don’t have much to add, so watch his videos for a more complete look. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- The browser renders as well as you would expect if you have done any browsing on a modern PDA or really modern phone.
Non-Issues:
- The page loading speed issue he mentions is pretty bad, but those of us who browse from our phones or PDAs already know that we have to pick and choose which sites we visit to avoid frustration.
Cons:
- Cookies, HTTP Authentication credentials and History are all forgotten when you turn off the DS.
- Users cannot move around on the page while the browser is loading images.
- The interface text is in Japanese, so some options are not readable.
- You have to carry around the DS Browser card (as with any DS game) AND the memory expansion cartridge for the GBA slot.
Penny-Arcade and the ESRB!
Looks like the team at Penny-Arcade are working on a gamer-focused ESRB campaign. This will lend a lot of cred to the ESRB rating system. Exciting!!
Version 2 of the X2VGA
X2VGA is releasing a new version of their HDTV to VGA transcoder. The first version only worked with the XBox, but the new device takes 2 standard component inputs and a VGA input letting you switch between all 3 inputs to decide what is shown on your VGA monitor. At $65, this thing is a huge bargain.
I’ve been using version 1 for a long time now to play XBox games with my VGA monitor – it works like a charm. I don’t have any immediate need for version 2, but I’m considering getting a second Comcast DVR for my desk and hooking it up to my monitor with this device. Now, if it only supported picture-in-picture….
